A Courtyard Pool That Arrives Finished: Container Pools for Mediterranean Villas
Notizie dettagliate

There is a particular moment in a Mediterranean courtyard, around seven in the evening, when the heat comes off the terracotta and the light goes long and gold across the paving. A pool makes that moment worth staying for. The problem has never been wanting one — it has been the six weeks of digging, the concrete truck, the tiler who does not come back, and the courtyard that looks like a building site for an entire summer.

A container pool removes that sequence. The unit is built and finished in the factory, lifted by crane onto prepared ground, connected and filled. The courtyard is a courtyard again by the weekend.

Why the finish matters more in a courtyard than a backyard

In a garden, a pool can sit apart from the house. In a courtyard it shares walls with it. The shell is visible from every window, from the loggia, from the kitchen door. This is why the stone-texture panel finish exists: a sand-toned surface with a wood deck edge that picks up the same colours as the stucco, the stone and the olive bark, so the pool reads as part of the architecture rather than as equipment parked on the paving.

Underneath the finish the unit is a moulded fiberglass basin with a resin gel coat — an algae-resistant surface that is wiped clean rather than resurfaced. It sits inside a galvanized steel frame, 80 x 120 x 2.75 mm main beams and 50 x 70 x 2.75 mm side beams, bonded with polyurethane epoxy structural adhesive. The viewing window is 12 + 12 mm laminated tempered glass.

The evening swim

Two IP68 18 W LED lights sit under the waterline, four on the longest size. Set into a stone shell, they do not read as pool lights at all — they read as the water glowing. Add the optional PAC60 air-source heat pump, rated for basins up to 60 m³, and the season stops ending in September.

Guests arrive in June and swim in the evening. In October, when the courtyard is cool and the water is not, that is the difference between a villa that photographs well and one that gets booked twice.

Sizes that respect the footprint

Courtyards are usually the tightest space on the property. The range starts at 3.9 m overall for a plunge pool that fits between a wall and a doorway, and runs to 8.8 m for a lap pool. Every size ships as a complete set — pump, skimmer, salt chlorinator, insulation, filter, pipework, lights, inlets and outlets included — with no excavation required for above-ground installation. Where local rules or the design call for it, the frame and liner also allow the unit to be partly or fully recessed.

One delivery, one lift, one afternoon. The courtyard gets its pool without losing its summer.
