Global Container (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. Launches All-Weather Prefab Outdoor Kitchen for Rain, Salt and Snow Climates
A fully fitted outdoor kitchen that arrives as one module — a fold-out canopy model on electric hydraulic struts and a roller-shutter model that seals shut between uses. Eight sets load into a single 40ft container.
SUZHOU, CHINA — 16 October 2026 — Global Container (Suzhou) Co., Ltd.
Global Container (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., the Chinese manufacturer of prefabricated container and modular buildings, has added a prefabricated outdoor kitchen to its export range. The product is built around a failure mode the category rarely addresses: an outdoor kitchen is not destroyed by cooking, it is destroyed by the weeks it spends not being cooked in.
Covers, tarpaulins and good intentions do not survive contact with a working household. Salt-laden air reaches every stainless surface on the coast. Monsoon rain arrives sideways. Wind-blown dust settles into burner ports. Snow and freeze-thaw work at every joint through the winter. The new range answers that with two self-contained builds, each of which closes or shelters the cooking zone without the owner having to do anything at the end of the evening.

Visualisation: the fold-out canopy model in rain — the canopy carries water clear of the bench and the dining table beneath it.
Two Builds, Two Ways to Close a Kitchen
The fold-out canopy model opens on two electric hydraulic struts. The canopy lifts and extends forward to oversail the cooking station, and an LED strip runs the full perimeter of its edge so the bench stays usable after sunset. The cooking zone remains open while the weather works around it — in the visualisation above, the canopy carries the water clear of both the bench and the table beside it.
The roller-shutter model closes instead of sheltering. An electrically operated roller shutter runs down over the whole front elevation, so the kitchen does not have to be emptied, covered or carried indoors at the end of the evening. The closed face becomes the unit's weather envelope as well as its security envelope, which suits courtyards, holiday homes and short-stay rentals where the cooking equipment should not be on display while the owners are away.
What Arrives on Site
Both builds ship as a single closed module with the kitchen already installed: cabinets, marble benchtop, sink, range hood, refrigerator cabinet and oven all fitted at the factory. The appliance package is offered in high, mid and entry specification tiers, and the benchtop, layout and electrical configuration can be specified per order and per destination market.

Specified for Four Very Different Climates
The range is being positioned against the climates that actually end an outdoor kitchen's service life, rather than against a single home market:
- Tropical Southeast Asia — monsoon rain and year-round humidity, where a closed or canopied face keeps driving water off the bench and the appliance package between uses.
- Nordic and Canadian lakeside — snow, freeze-thaw and long dormant months, where the frame and wall build-up are chosen so the unit is not a snow trap and does not rot while it waits for spring.
- European backyards — a long summer season followed by a long off-season, where the shutter or canopy is what makes the kitchen seasonal-proof rather than a shelf under cover.
- Gulf and Middle East courtyards — high sun, wind-blown dust and fine sand, which a closed face keeps off the surfaces entirely.
Because the units are free-standing, they can be sited on a timber deck, a paved terrace, compacted gravel or a courtyard slab without the retaining structure that a built-in kitchen run would need. Both models require a level, well-drained base, clearance in front for the mechanism to operate, and a supply connection to the siting position.
Availability
The prefab outdoor kitchen range is available to order now with a minimum order quantity of one set and a production lead time of 30 days. Eight complete units load into a single 40ft container. Electrical configurations can be produced to meet destination-market requirements for Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East. The range joins the company's existing prefabricated container and modular building lines.
“We kept seeing the same thing in customer feedback: the kitchen itself was fine, the oven and the hood and the bench were all still good — it was the exposure in between that had ruined them. So we stopped treating the cover as an accessory and built the enclosure into the product. One model opens and reaches over the cooking zone on electric struts. The other closes completely, which is what a courtyard or a holiday home actually needs.”— Global Container (Suzhou) Co., Ltd.
