In 2025, a large-scale infrastructure contractor in Saudi Arabia launched a fast-track labor accommodation project for more than 600 construction workers. Due to the tight project schedule and high transportation costs in the Middle East market, the client required a modular housing solution capable of rapid installation, high loading efficiency, and reliable thermal insulation performance.
Based on the project requirements, Global Container (Suzhou) supplied a total of 128 detachable container houses using galvanized steel structures combined with 50mm PU insulated sandwich panels. The standard unit size reached 5950×3000×2800mm, providing sufficient internal living space while maintaining efficient container loading performance.
According to the actual factory loading data, one 40HQ container can load up to 17 detachable container units, significantly reducing international ocean freight costs compared with traditional flat-pack structures. This transportation efficiency has become one of the core advantages for overseas EPC projects and labor camp developments.
During on-site installation, the modular bolt-connected structure enabled fast assembly with minimal equipment requirements. Based on real production and installation data from Suzhou factories, an average team of 4 workers can complete 1 unit installation within approximately 5 hours. The entire Saudi labor camp project completed installation and commissioning within only 18 days, helping the contractor shorten project preparation time substantially.
The project adopted integrated electrical systems, insulated roofing systems, and corrosion-resistant galvanized steel frames suitable for harsh desert environments. The detachable structure also supports repeated dismantling and relocation, reducing long-term camp investment costs for construction companies and mining operators.
At present, detachable container houses manufactured in Suzhou are widely exported to the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa, and Europe for applications including worker accommodation, mining camps, temporary offices, modular classrooms, and emergency housing projects. With certified production systems including CE, ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001, modular container buildings continue to become one of the most cost-efficient solutions in global temporary construction markets.
