Tile Roofs and Cool Water: A Stone-Finish Container Pool for California Villas
Новости подробности

Spanish-style houses in California were designed around a courtyard, a loggia and shade. The pool came later, usually as an afterthought cut into a lawn, and it rarely matches the architecture it sits beside.

This finish is an attempt to fix that. Beige stone-texture panels, a wood deck edge, black trim: colours taken from stucco, terracotta and shade rather than from pool catalogues.

Proportion before size

A villa courtyard does not want an eight-metre lap pool. It wants water at the right scale — a plunge pool you step into after the drive, deep enough to be cool, long enough to float. The 3.9 m and 5.5 m sizes exist for that proportion, and the 5.5 m with the deeper 4.5 x 2.1 x 1.36 m basin is the one that most often suits a terrace with a loggia behind it.

The 8.8 m sits at the other end: a lap pool for a property where exercise is part of the brief, still only 2.2 m wide, still delivered as one set.

No build season

In a rental market, a pool that requires a construction programme is a pool that closes the property. This one arrives on a truck: crane lift on the D-ring points, set down on prepared ground or a slab, power, water. No excavation for above-ground installation, no concrete, no tiling.

The shell is a moulded fiberglass basin with a resin gel coat — resistant to algae, cleaned with a wipe rather than resurfaced — inside a galvanized steel frame of 80 x 120 x 2.75 mm main beams and 50 x 70 x 2.75 mm side beams. Viewing window in 12 + 12 mm laminated tempered glass. Every set ships with pump WQ20-15-2.2 at 20 m³/h, skimmer 500 Slim with DN50 pipework, QSS-60 salt chlorinator, 30 mm polyurethane insulation, sand filter, and IP68 LED lighting.

The evening version

Two lights are enough for a plunge pool; four on the longest size are what makes a lap pool usable after dark. With the optional PAC60 heat pump — 16 kW, rated to 60 m³ — the water stays in range through the shoulder months when coastal evenings drop faster than the air temperature suggests.

And the detail that matters to guests: the entry stair is moulded into the shell, not bolted on. No ladder frame at the waterline, no gap behind the steps. You walk in.

Where a property wants a flush finish, the frame and liner allow the unit to be partly or fully recessed. Where it wants water this month, it stays above grade. Both are the same pool.
