Custom Flat Pack Buildings: Eco-Cabin Resort Villas and Mobile Commercial Pods
One Platform, Many Building Types
The same 20ft detachable flat pack platform that serves worker camps can be finished as a resort cabin, a boutique retail pod or a premium mobile office. Global Container (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. supplies these units as customised buildings, with the structural frame standardised and the envelope, glazing, interior and services configured to the project.
The 6,000 x 3,000 x 2,840 mm footprint provides approximately 18 m² of floor area, and the 2.84 m ceiling height is the key enabler: it allows full-height glass, mezzanine storage and the visual generosity that hospitality and retail tenants expect.
Three Common Configurations
| Configuration | Typical user | Key customisation |
|---|---|---|
| Eco-cabin resort villa | Island and eco-resorts, glamping sites | Large glass frontage, timber-look cladding, premium bathroom pod |
| Pop-up retail pod | Brands, F&B operators, event organisers | Glass facade, display lighting, signage fascia, serving counter |
| Mobile office | Developers, consultants, remote teams | Partitioned meeting room, data cabling, acoustic lining |
Designed for Sensitive Sites
Island resorts in Bali, Phuket and Boracay, and urban sites in Singapore, Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur, share a common constraint: heavy machinery is expensive, disruptive or simply cannot reach the plot. Flat-packed kits are manhandled and assembled with light equipment, avoiding concrete pours, piling rigs and long site programmes. The result is a building that can be installed in a landscaped setting with minimal ground disturbance and removed later without leaving a slab behind.
Customisation Scope
- Structure: 10ft, 20ft or 40ft modules, flat or sloped roof, optional canopy
- Envelope: 50 / 75 / 100 mm rock wool, EPS or PU panels with 0.3–0.5 mm colour steel, wood-grain or matte finishes
- Glazing: full-height glass walls, sliding doors, fixed picture windows
- Interior: MGO or gypsum ceilings, wet-area bathroom pods, kitchenettes, built-in joinery
- Services: electrical layouts to CE, IEC or UL requirements, air conditioning, hot water
Commercial Model
Production and delivery run 10 to 20 working days, with 18 units per 40HQ container and a minimum order quantity of four units. For hospitality operators, that means a new cluster of rooms can be ordered, shipped and installed within a single low season — and expanded later as occupancy proves out.
Because the units are relocatable, they also function as staged real estate: a resort can open with six cabins, validate demand, then redeploy capital into additional units rather than committing to a fixed building.
Compliance for Hospitality and Retail
Buildings can be supplied with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification, CE marking, SGS inspection reports, fireproof certification and wind resistance test data, with electrical components listed to CE, IEC or UL standards. This documentation supports planning submissions, insurance and brand compliance reviews.
